The Hobart Benevolent Society was founded in 1859 and has been running continuously since then, providing services and support for the disadvantaged of Hobart and surrounding areas.
The Hobart Benevolent Society provides:

* Food vouchers
* Counselling
* Help with payment of prescriptions, Aurora, Telstra, etc.
* Referral to other services
* Provision of food, bread, blankets, local bus tickets.
