Island Specialty Timbers receive or select logs, burls and stumps of special timbers from Tasmania's working forests and process these into raw material for furniture or craft designer / makers, woodturners, builders and luthiers. Our range includes veneers, dressed and dry timber, slabs, turning blanks, burls, logs for purchase, building poles, posts for fencing and decking timber. We stock the following special timbers: Blackwood, Celery-top Pine, Myrtle, Sassafras, Leatherwood, Eucalyptus, Huon Pine and occaisionally musk and King William Pine.

Our speciality is to make available highly figured or coloured timber from logs, burls or stumps in natural slabs, squares or boards, often in matched lots. Figure such as fiddle-back, birds-eye, flame and burl feature or the spectacular colours in black-heart sassafras, tiger myrtle or purple-heart leatherwood are all highly prized for furniture, woodcraft or architectural applications.
