Emu Valley Rhododendron Garden (03) 6433 1805 Emu Valley Rhododendron Garden is located only 6km from the Burnie City Centre to Cascade Road (off Old Surrey Road), then only a short 2km drive into the Garden following the signs. The Emu Valley Rhododendron Garden was started in 1981 by members of the Australian Rhododendron Society, North West Tasmanian Branch and is now an independent, non-profit organisation. Most of the development has been achieved through voluntary effort by members, and has attracted international attention over recent years. You can become a member of the Emu Valley Rhododendron Garden and the Emu Valley Rhododendron Society (the two are offered as a package), and gain unlimited access for you and your partner (during open hours) to enjoy the flowers, take a leisurely stroll, or just enjoy the tranquillity. For more information about Membership, click here. The Garden covers 11 hectares with over 20,000 plants already planted, and plans for future development embracing many more. The Garden is open from 9am to 5pm daily from 1st August to the end of April (Christmas Day excluded). Admission fee applies. Accompanied children are admitted FREE of charge. Our Visitor Centre is in operation and tea, coffee and home-made biscuits are available on Thursdays, Saturdays and Sundays (every day during October & November only). Whilst we firmly recommend that visitors walk around the Garden to enjoy its pleasures at close range, should this present a difficulty, please see the Gatekeeper who will happily arrange for you to drive around the internal road system. |
