Silly Little Things

A pattern emerged, clear as day.

The things that don’t matter,

Well, they faded away, as you said:

‘It’s enough!’

All the pointless lies about pointless stuff,

Now only remember the days,

When all the things that seemed difficult,

Were just carried away.

All those silly little things, trying to fly without wings,

They don’t matter, the former or the latter.

When all is said and done, it only matters that we tried to run,

When everything seems lost, remember what it costs,

To fight over the little things, the petty secrets and lost rings,

For when we are on our deathbeds, we won’t recall if it was blue or red,

Yes, the silly little things will fade, and out we will wade,

To a world where only the things that truly matter, will cause us to scatter,

Back to happier days,

Oh, the breeze will blow those lies away.
