The Arts Society of Tasmania presents
‘Scene Through the Lens’ -- a photographic exhibition
Visit the Lady Franklin Gallery and see this wonderful exhibition of photographic work.
Take a walk into the ancient rainforests of Tasmania with Peter Walsh. Some of the world's oldest living trees speak to us through his lens, and make us wonder at nature’s magnificent forms.
Continue beyond the forests with Steve Roden, and witness images of dramatic light and weather in Lake St Clair National Park, descending to coastal scenery and then to the warmth and colour of European street scenes.
Return to Tasmania’s wilderness with Andy Szollosi, who takes us to places that are difficult to access, and explores how places change over time.
Kevin Smith will engage you with yet more unique interpretations of our wilderness areas, demonstrating what can be achieved with effort and insight. Kevin commits his work to canvas, showing a strong link between photography and the painterly arts.

Lady Franklin created the gallery that now bears her name to bring art to the people of Tasmania. Whilst photography was in its genesis in her lifetime, we believe she would have been pleased to see this new art form on display.
‘Scene Through the Lens’ will be available for viewing from the 2nd
September to 1st of October 2023 at the Lady Jane Franklin Gallery,
open on weekends from 11am to 4pm.

Jane Franklin Gallery, 268 Lenah Valley Rd, Tas 7008.
